The 2-Step

This one is a classic you can always find in parties, clubs, and weddings, so it makes sense to learn it first. The 2-Step is all about stepping side to side and moving your weight from one foot to the other, and that’s it.

Tip: Start slow, then slowly increase the speed. Once you can keep a steady rhythm, you’re all set.

The Box Step.

This is a well-known dance move in ballrooms and is easy to identify, making it a great tool for grasping fundamental footwork. As the name implies, the goal is to move in a box shaped pattern:

  • Forward
  • Side
  • Rear
  • Side
