Kids Dance Classes - Ballet
Ballet is a classic dance style, that’s all about technique, grace, and discipline. At our Pinecrest dance studio, we offer a full program in ballet to develop your child’s technical proficiency and artistic expression through the progressions of instruction.
It starts with general classes that allow the young dancer to be introduced playfully to the basic positions and movements. In advanced stages, students develop those skills into more complex choreography.
In intermediate levels, more advanced techniques and elements of performance are introduced to improve coordination and artistic expression. Classes for older students then focus on advanced techniques and classical repertoire for further ballet training or performance.
With the one-on-one attention provided by our experienced teachers in a warm and nurturing environment, each dancer can develop their skills and self-confidence while having a structured ballet education.
Flamenco
Flamenco is among the most passionate dance styles that originated in Spain. The Flamenco program at our Pinecrest dance studio introduces kids to the world of Flamenco dancing with passion.
Classes start right from the basics: Young children learn the fundamentals of Flamenco, basic steps, rhythm, and body movements. The early classes emphasize fun, making a creative space for strong technical coordination.
As the student progresses, he or she is taught more complex Flamenco techniques and choreography. Variations of the styles of Flamenco are pursued in the intermediate class to further the dancer’s proficiency and knowledge of the dance. Emphasis will be placed on the perfection of the footwork, performance quality, and individual style.
Our experienced teachers are committed to each dancer’s growth in a supportive and inspiring space so that one may gain a full and enriching Flamenco education.
Contemporary
Beginner Contemporary Dance
Our beginner contemporary dance class introduces students to fundamental principles of contemporary dance, fluid movements, improvisation, and elementary techniques. Exercises are done to provide awareness to the body, flexibility, and creative movement.Advanced Contemporary Dance
Advanced contemporary classes will push students to learn longer and more intricate choreography along with new movement. Students will be working on intricate routines that incorporate multiple styles of dance and emphasize personal expression and performance quality. This class is for those with a solid dance background who want to push themselves to a new level.Jazz
Beginner Jazz Dance
In our beginning jazz classes, students will learn the basic movements of jazz dance, including kicks, turns, and leaps. Emphasizing rhythm, coordination, and confidence, we use fun and funky routines to upbeat music. They will also learn basic choreography in the art of jazz to get comfortable in performance.Intermediate & Advanced Jazz Dance
The intermediate and advanced classes provide the more seasoned dancer with a more challenging routine and technique. Students will be able to learn complex choreography, energetic jumps, detailed footwork, and movements full of strength. Classes focus on personal style and performance.
Hip-Hop
Beginner Hip-Hop
In our beginner hip-hop classes, street dance techniques are introduced to students, including breaking, popping, and locking. They will be taken through basic hip-hop moves and choreography work on rhythm, coordination, and self-expression.Advanced Hip-Hop
Our hip-hop classes in advanced levels include freestyle and complicated routines. Our students will learn how to do detailed choreography and practice their style for confidence, performance building skills. The class also encourages technical ability and musicality in advanced classes.Special Classes
AMT - Autism Movement Therapy
Miami Dance Project at Pinecrest, Fl, offers Autism Movement Therapy. A program that will help improve cognitive, emotional, and physical skills in kids with autism, by utilizing music and motion.
In this method, rhythmic dance with specific structured activities engages in expanded communication, social interactions, and improved motor coordination.
